Blog by 12 year old Kid – How I Was Diagnosed With Myopia and Improved My Eyesight

Hi,
My name is Viraj Kapoor and I am 12 years old. This is my true story about my eyesight and what I learned from it.

I want to make one thing very clear — I was not using screens too much. I played video games only once a week. However, I had a very bad habit while playing: I did not blink my eyes properly. I used to stare at the screen continuously without resting my eyes. I did not know that this habit could cause serious eye problems.

Over time, my vision started getting blurry. When I went for an eye check-up, I was diagnosed with myopia (short-sightedness). The doctor told me that my eye number had reached 3.6 in both eyes. That day was very shocking for me and became a turning point in my life.

My parents explained to me that even limited screen time can be harmful if eye care is ignored. They consulted an Ayurvedic doctor, and I started proper treatment. From that day onwards, I became careful about blinking my eyes, taking breaks, and reducing unnecessary screen use.

I continued Ayurvedic treatment for one full year with discipline and patience. Slowly, my eyesight started improving. After a long year, my eye number reduced from 3.6 to 1.75, which made me very happy and confident.

Recently, I also underwent an Ayurvedic eye therapy called Tarpan. After this treatment, my eyes feel more relaxed, fresh, and less strained, and I can feel a positive difference in my eyesight.

This journey taught me a very important lesson:
👉 It is not only screen time, but also eye habits that matter.

Now I make sure to blink properly, rest my eyes, and take care of them every day. I hope my story helps other children understand the importance of eye care and healthy habits.

Thank you for reading my blog.
